I wish I could McFly by
David English, MBE Bunbury Founder
So its time to return to Robins field, just behind the church, at the end of that beautiful village of Carlton.
Time to take on Harry Judd's TCT Terriers… a day of cricket, music, side- shows, banter and Bentleys, the sound of children playing, balloons, candy floss and face painting… the sounds of summer.
A day of love, raising vital funds supporting the wonderful work of Teenage Cancer Trust.
'Harry Boy' a Top Bunbury, ex Uppingham School , a true gentleman. I wish I could McFly…. music plays such a major role in TCT's fundraising. The marvellous Royal Albert Hall concerts organised by our Bunbury Brother Roger Daltrey… so successful, so inspirational. Music is the art form which includes rhythm, meaning and communication. I've met people from all walks of life and they've all been touched in such a pure and unique way… they've felt this deep connection very much like the marriage of the Bunbury's and TCT and their desire to entertain and help those in need.
My special thanks go to that very special pocket battleship Helen Bearfield-Smith; To the Wylie and Rosenberg families and the organising committee whose generous spirit and hard work will once again ensure that magic will reign on Robin's field. And to the players on both sides we are indebted to you for giving your precious time for nothing to entertain the troops ….I wish I could McFly, I wish I could touch the sky…
One Love
Dr David M.B.E
